Concert Series: Vinnie D & Co.
Cross of Life Live welcomes back Vinnie D & Co., “The King of Swing,” for an evening of big band favorites. Relive the Benny Goodman small group experience. Goodman introduced several innovative small groups in the 1930s, which included musical giants Teddy Wilson, Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, and Charlie Christian. The small groups delivered hits like Moonglow, Air Mail Special, and Flying Home.
Vinnie D’Agostino is a multi instrumentalist with strong clarinet roots, studying with clarinet gurus from the Boston Symphony and the Metropolitan Opera. He is a member of the Joe Gransden Big Band and played with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Joining Vinnie are Gerald Freeman, piano; Ethan Shealy, guitar; and Michael Vosbein, drums.
