Service Groups
Cross of Life serves God’s people in a wide variety of ways, and the best way to make a difference is to personally engage in some form of service ministry. Your life will never be the same!
• English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes
Welcoming the stranger is a high priority in the Scriptures. When someone moves to the United States, learning English becomes important for their economic stability. Cross of Life and our ESL teachers are highly committed to such empowerment as a way of celebrating our cultural diversity. (If you can read English but would enjoy meeting with others to practice speaking English, please visit our free ESL class. The class meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Cross of Life Lutheran Church, 1000 Hembree Road, Roswell. You may begin any Tuesday.)
• Gleaners
This group of volunteers collects food from local stores and take it to North Fulton Community Charities’ food pantry. Each gleaner picks up from one store each week.
• Lutheran Braille Workers – Love Works
A group of Cross of Life volunteers gathers at a Love Works local production center to make Bibles for people who are blind, visually impaired, or imprisoned. The group meets twice each month and it is a fun and interesting way to share God’s word with others.
• Quilting for Lutheran World Relief
The quilting group meets each Tuesday from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The quilts go to displaced people around the world, and they are used as bedding, tents, or even floor coverings. All are welcome to join in showing God’s love to a hurting world.
