Affirm

Who:

Youth who have completed grades 6 through 12

What:

Affirm is a summer event for youth that is held by the ELCA Southeastern Synod. Affirm

• nurtures faith
• equips youth leaders
• trains youth in discipleship skills.  

There are ten different age appropriate leadership and discipleship units for this event.  Small group leaders and directors oversee each unit. Youth spend six hours per day learning through games, skits, and discussions.

The University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama

When:

June 14-19, 2020

Cost:

The cost is $450 per youth. Scholarships are available through the synod (on the registration form) and through COL (contact Andrea Roche).

Registration Information:

Deadline: May 1

You register as an individual, but let Andrea Roche know you have signed up. 

You choose your “Unit” based on your grade you have finished and which ones you have already done. A description of the units can be found at Affirm Unit Descriptions. If you are not sure, reach out to Ms. Andrea, and she will help you choose which Unit will be best for your youth.

There is also a chance to get a seat on the “Affirm Bus” that leaves from Trinity Lutheran Church, Lilburn, GA. If you want to ride the bus to & from Affirm, please let Andrea Roche know, and she will register our group there as soon as it is available. If you want to drive your youth or car pool with other COL families, we can work that out as well. 

Process to register:

Register on the Southeastern Synod Youth website, then let Andrea Roche know you will be attending Affirm so she can arrange for transportation. (Registration is your responsibility.)
