The holidays are filled with joyful songs and sounds as we celebrate the season. But for many of us, it is hard to be joyful during the holidays. When we are grieving the loss of loved ones – or dealing with broken family relationships – or struggling with physical and mental illness or depression – or for a variety of other reasons, the holiday season can be a difficult time.
Our annual Service of Comfort & Hope is designed to acknowledge that reality and to give people an opportunity to lift those struggles up to the Lord. It is a time of music, scripture, reflection, and prayer. It is a service you experience without having to reveal the source of your hurt, but one where we gather together as a community and are present with one another. As we do so, we also remember that it was into a broken world such as this that God’s love took on human flesh in Christ Jesus, our Redeemer.
