We can’t wait to walk through the faith journey of Holy Week and celebrate the joy of Easter with your family! Don’t forget to invite a friend.
Egg Hunt Details
- This is a family activity. Please plan on at least one parent staying with your child(ren) the whole time.
- We will begin in Gathering Room B (follow the signs!) with the Easter Story to keep us centered on the meaning of the day
- Bring your own Easter basket, but we will have back-ups if you forget
- Children 4 and under will hunt in the Montessori School garden; children age 4 through fifth grade will hunt in the front courtyard
- The eggs are empty. We have found that this reduces competition, injuries, tears, and the chances of finding rotten Easter candy two years later.
- We will work together as a group to find and collect all the eggs, then everyone will get a treat bag.
- Candy-free treat bags are available. Reserved for children with allergies first.
- Rain or Shine– The egg hunt will be held indoors if weather is dreary.
Easter Morning Details and Reminders
- Busy bags with some Easter-themed activities and children’s books will be available for your family to pick up on your way in to worship. They are located at the Greeter’s desk by the main doors to the sanctuary and on a small cart by the side door, across from the Nursery. Please make sure you put them back for the next service when you are finished.
- The Nursery and the Cry Room will be available for your use all morning on Easter, and during Holy Week services. There is a changing table in the Nursery bathroom.
- The flower cross on Easter morning (bring flowers from your home garden to add) is a fun thing for kids to do, and helps them feel like they contributed something special to the occasion. Someone will be on hand to help you with it. It’s also a great spot for a family Easter photo!
- Dress Code: many families consider Easter an occasion for a special outfit. We love to see Easter bonnets and bow ties (!), but you are also welcome to come as you are. Getting your child here to hear the Good News is more important than getting him or her here in the most trendy Easter outfit! Also, be aware that grass stains and dirt are a possibility during the Egg Hunt.
