God’s people helping God’s people!
Many of us face worries, anxieties, and fears as our lives unfold. Events often occur, such as the loss of a loved one, financial challenges, job loss, relationship issues, loneliness, sickness, disabilities, unsettling life changes, faith issues, and more. When this happens, it is often difficult to cope. In situations like these – even if the struggle is temporary – no one should have to struggle alone. And the good news is you don’t have to!
What is Stephen Ministry?
Cross of Life is a “Stephen Ministry” congregation. Stephen Ministry is “God’s people helping God’s people.” Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation who have received 50 hours of initial training followed by ongoing guidance and continuing education. They have been commissioned by our church to give you caring, non-judgmental, attentive listening. They are trained to be there for you, to walk with you and care for you in your difficult times.
Strictly Confidential
Anything you share with them is kept strictly confidential. No one will know you even have a Stephen Minister unless you tell people yourself. And a Stephen Minister is available as long – or as briefly – as you feel you need it. The Stephen Minister will meet with you in your home or wherever you feel comfortable. They will come to you.
You don’t have to bear the burden alone
One of the biggest hurdles that prevents people from receiving care when they need it most is that people don’t want to admit that they could use some caring support. Please don’t let this stop you from receiving care when you need it!
To learn more, or to inquire about using the care a Stephen Minister can provide, talk to any of our Stephen Ministry Leaders – Claudia, Steve, and Nancy – or talk to either Pastor David or Pastor Terri.
