In addition to adult Sunday school and midweek Bible studies, Cross of Life has small groups meeting year-round including:
Quilting Group: The quilters meet each Tuesday to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Contemporary Band, Chancel Choir, and Hand Bells: While they have a designated purpose, each ensemble provides a small group connection for its members.
Friday Fixers: The third Friday of each month, the Friday Fixers meet for lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy great food and fellowship, and then come tackle “honey do” projects at the church.
Book Club: Meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, they discuss assigned books and share in great fellowship.
Lunch Bunch: Meeting once a month or more, this group gathers in local restaurants for faithful conversation and friendship.
Stitch and Pray: This group meets regularly to knit and crochet prayer shawls, baptismal shawls, chemo caps, and other items for charity, all while they pray for the recipients.
Lenten Small Groups: During the season of Lent, people are often invited to participate in small group studies. During Lent in 2017, eight small groups with over 80 participants met to talk about Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. The discussion included how his perspectives on the basics of the Christian faith still apply to our lives today. The previous year, our Lenten small groups focused on the theme of Simplify.
